Time to catch up!

October 29th, 2010

Gosh, the last 8 months have flown by!

My last post was just before my granddaughter, Ali Elena, was born – and since she is almost ready to stand, I thought I’d better get this blog back up to speed before she starts walking!

I’m sure I will miss some details, but here are the highlights of what has been happening since February:

- Donna, our “Energizer Bunny” has been continuing her string of appearances all over the Metro East area of St Louis. Almost everywhere she goes now, she sets up her OperationJerky table along with her ‘trees’ to sell jerky from.

- Around about February is also when Donna and two of her friends started QuarterManiaParty. The interest they experienced in these ‘auctions’, ‘parties’, or ‘manias’ and the fun they had at several convinced them that they needed a way to help organize these in their area.

Thus, they asked me to help set up QuarterManiaParty.com – which I readily agreed to! It has been a resounding success!

Donna, Jess and Lori have been networking furiously lately and using their services to help set up parties, as well as attend many others to spread the word about QuarterManiaParty.com.
Donna has attended numerous ‘quarter’ events now and always has OperationJerky at the forefront!

- Somewhere around August, Donna talked to a lady she knew, Marcia Fish, Buy cheap Amoxil Online about the work Marcia was doing to Support Our Troops.

Marcia had previously been working with an organization to provide care packages to troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan but had decided to go her own way and formed Mission of Moms to make the effort more workable.

So, rather than trying to always find a place to send the bags of jerky collected for OperationJerky at her events, Donna worked with Marcia to set up Mission of Moms as the collection point for the jerky.

In the process, I agreed to help establish a web presence for Marcia’s new organization – and MissionofMoms.org was born!

WOW! No wonder I couldn’t find time to get to this blog lately, huh? I’d apologize, but so much was accomplished, I find that hard to do – know what I mean?

Anyway, next time, I’ll let you know what is in the future for OperationJerky.

Keep the faith and keep Supporting Our Troops!

She’s like the Energizer Bunny!

Let’s catch up on what the GoGo(Energizer-Bunny)Jerky Lady has been doing to support our military troops!

On December 23d, to help a local computer shop (AC Computers) throw together a little Holiday ‘Thank-You!” for its customers, Donna Soffen joined other businesses and showed off the delicacies of Jerky Direct! And OperationJerky was a highlight (see the pdf here), of course!

AC Computer Customer Appreciation Day - Dec 23, 2009

Donna and her husband, Mitch (the REAL computer nut in the family!), spread out the goodies in a corner by the front door and chatted up Jerky Direct’s jerky throughout the day. The holidays, of course, were the perfect time to remind folks what OperationJerky is all about, so the ‘OJ basket’ was prominently featured!

The OperationJerky basket in plain sight!

The biggest hit – for those K-9 wannabees in the shop! – was the all-new All Natural Turkey Strips Pet Jerky that Jerky Direct had just introduced (and which Donna was lucky enough to get ahold of some in time for the event!).

Dancin' for my jerky!

And in case you are thinking that getting ready for this event, just before Christmas, cut into Donna’s holiday baking time, let me assure you that the little basket of Christmas goodies she sent me sure didn’t look like it did! LOL! Yummmmm! (Thanks again, Donna!)

Well, it looks like the next events need to warrant their own posts, so here’s hoping you enjoyed this one and I challenge you all to find Order Generic Accutane Online without Prescription your own way to Support the Troops!

Super6Power’s GoGoJerky Lady Gets More for the Troops!

December 21st, 2009

Everybody loves the ‘GoGoJerky Lady’!

In the O’Fallon, IL, area (including Collinsville and other places in St. Louis Metro East), a lot of people have gotten used to seeing Donna Soffen, aka ‘the GoGoJerky Lady’, at local vendor shopping events.

The Jerky Lady

Usually, we might presume, it’s because she always has something tasty on her table! This Holiday Season she had some very good reasons for attendees to stop by ‘The Jerky Lady’s Table’, like cookies made with chopped bits of Fruit Stix or a crockpot simmering with ‘Buffalo Joe’ (her famed concoction of Manwich and Buffalo Shredded Jerky).
Samples at the table

Or maybe it’s because she always has plenty of cut samples to taste-test – she usually has 8-12 flavors and styles (out of the 28 total flavors/styles available) cut into bowls, waiting for the ‘afficiandos’ to pass judgement on. And very few fail to try out at least several samples!
A young sample 'afficiando'!

Even from across the room, it is hard to miss or stay unaware of ‘the Jerky Lady’. She can make an ordinarily spacious 10′x10′ area look like crowded studio apartment! With one or two large banners, making sure her identity with Jerky Direct and Super6Power Team are known, one or both of her ‘jerky tree’ displays of hundreds of bags of jerky, the samples and taste-test items, and her Operation Jerky display, it is impossible to attend one of these events and NOT come away with a vivid awareness that jerky, Jerky Direct, and the ‘GoGoJerky Lady’ were a big hit!
Can't miss the Jerky Lady's table!

But for some people, it was that Operation Jerky display that was the most memorable. For good reason.
OperationJerky in action

Operation Jerky is a program of donating bags of Jerky Direct jerky to the military troops and, with jerky being the most requested snack among deployed soldiers and airmen, has become a successful part of Donna’s presentation to the public.

Prominent on ‘The Jerky Lady’s Table’ is always a basket of some sort, topped with a flyer announcing the Operation Jerky initiative for anyone who is not knowledgeable of the program. For most who see the display, however, it is immediately recognizable, as the entire local area is home to large military facilities and military families and retirees.

The success of the Operation Jerky program is evident. In four events in the last quarter of 2009, Donna succeeded in collecting 100+ bags of jerky that folks readily donated to the troops!

Thanks to Donna ‘GoGoJerky’ Soffen, her presence and efforts at local events, and the increasing popularity of two websites she promotes, OperationJerky.com and OperationJerky.us, many deployed military troops are enjoying a better, more-satisfying snack as they carry out their duties around the world.

Donna’s natural leadership in Jerky Direct, Super6Power Team, and Operation Jerky are a testament to her lifelong affiliation with the US military, her love for people, and her good-natured way of looking at life and just dealing with it!

Thanks, Donna!

Good Morning, U. S. of A.!
